Eggshells as Bio-Renewable Polymer Filler

Overview

This semester I took professor Kyle Lampe’s “Polymer Science & Engineering” course in the chemical engineering department, and among the many things I learned from this class was the prevalence of additives in polymers, their uses, and how eggshells can be used as a bio-renewable replacement for calcium carbonate as a polymer filler. This topic was the feature of my team’s semester-long group project for which we completed three main deliverables: an infographic, a lighthearted and informative “Youtube-style” video, and a technical presentation. I learned a lot and thought our work deserved to be shared, so here are our deliverables for your review and edification.

Phase 1: Infographic

Phase 2: Video

Phase 3: Presentation
